POSITION DETAILS

As Academic Program Specialist of Collaborative Programs, the responsibilities include:

• Assist with the input and maintenance of college records for 10,000+ high school students who participate in one or more of the office’s collaborative programs.

• Serve as College Now data coordinator, including creating and maintaining a database for CN statistics, assist with preparing reports, update, revise, and maintain all social media aspects including the College Now website.

• Assist with the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities for the College Now Program.

• Prepare, organize and plan activities and meetings for the College Now Student Advisory Board and facilitate College Now Awards Night at Kingsborough Community College.

• Work as the liaison between the Office of Collaborative Programs and KCC department offices which include Registrar, Academic Scheduling, Public Safety, among others.

• Coordinate and supervise College Now student recruitment and counseling operations at 47 high schools.

• Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand course offerings.

• Supervise the activities for all College Now Program Coordinators and Counselors.

• Coordinate orientation and professional development meetings.

• Conduct orientation and professional development meetings.

• Assist the director and all outreach activities to parents, principals and superintendents.

• Manage all aspects of the Collaborative Programs daily office operations including allocation and monitoring of the college assistant hours, scheduling, timesheets, personnel management and appearance. Liaison to the college’s Office of Human Resources and Labor Relations.

• Assist the director with the development of future collaborative program initiatives.

• Develop and maintain relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services.

• Attend and participate in CUNY Central meetings and work on any assigned sub-committees as needed, as well as, attend and participate in national conferences.

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualification-working with high school to college transition programs.

  • Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services

  • Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures

  • Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials

  • May supervise office operations and/or department budget

  • Performs related duties as assigned.
