You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Develops and designs holding fixtures and gages to ensure minimum measurement error during inspection.

  • Develops inspection strategies to meet business needs for the Corporation.

  • Document, and edit programs utilized in metrology labs such as CALYPSO, Polyworks, PC-DMIS, etc. and serves as technical expert for metrology inspection.

  • CAD experience is also a benefit such as NX, SolidWorks or other.

  • Supports Engineering New Product Development in Metrology through sample measurements and feedback, early on involvement in drawing and GD&T reviews, and early supplier measurement capability evaluations.

  • Use statistics to analyze measurements standards and processes to provide accurate and repeatable measurement strategies. Experience running R&R studies and troubleshooting poor results. Minitab or excel are preferred.

  • Interprets drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 to identify product inspection requirements.

  • Review and manage deliverables to help maintain and exceed our customer expectations.

  • Collaborates with a global team on standard measurement platforms and processes where appropriate.

  • Establishes and implements an effective Calibration System for gauge and equipment control on an ongoing basis.

  • Participates in design reviews with cross-functional teams to ensure that conformance to specifications, provides input based on instrument capabilities and limitations. Leads technical dimensional measurement planning as needed.

  • Create and sustain professional, cross functional relationships throughout all businesses in Milwaukee Tool.

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Associate degree or higher related to engineering, design, or manufacturing

  • 3 years minimum of experience conducting measurements, programming inspections, gage & fixture design and reading engineering drawings.

  • Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 – 3 years minimum

  • Able to react to change effectively in a team setting and handle multiple tasks as assigned.

  • Effective oral and written communication with both technical and management audience

  • Experience with a multitude of measurement equipment such as CMMs, Vision systems, 3D scanning, hand gages and open layout techniques.

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
