STS TECHNCIAL Maintenance Technician in BROOKFIELD, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Our client is a leading supplier of construction materials to commercial contractors. Position is located in Sun Prairie, WI. They are eagerly seeking an experienced maintenance technician to repair and maintain equipment during second shift. The ability to work independently, executing and following up on needed mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, is highly desired. This person will also perform preventative maintenance on machines used to manufacture various components for metal storage buildings in addition to new installations in an industrial setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Complete daily work logs as well as use a maintenance software to close out work requests and PM\'s. Respond to radio calls regarding facilities issues or machine breakdowns. Be able to safely operate a forklift. Work with electricity, which includes high voltage (up to 480 volts), running new lines, troubleshooting machine issues, changing fuses, etc. Troubleshoot mechanical issues independently. This may include changing a gear box, sprocket and chain, dies and punches, etc. These may have to be lifted independently from odd angles. Troubleshoot and replace hydraulic and pneumatic components such as cylinders, accumulators, valves, etc. Complete facility assignments including, but not limited to: plunging toilets, mopping, shoveling snow, cleaning gutters, cleaning drains, salting ice, etc. Be able to work comfortably and safely at heights. Must be able to use Multimeter in order to safely work on electrical projects. Familiar with lock-out-tag-out with a strong understanding of safe practices. Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges. Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Design new equipment to aid in the repair or maintenance of machines, mechanical equipment, or building structures. Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment. Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery. Align and balance new equipment after installation. Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Maintain or repair specialized equipment or machinery located in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, or factories. Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, crane , hand tools, or power tools. Install ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of five years of experience in related field, including high school diploma or work equivalent. Strong electrical and mechanical experience along with pneumatic and hydraulic hands on experience. Demonstrated ability in utilizing math skills daily. Ability to work unsupervised, self-starter, team environment and able to handle deadline pressure. Must provide own basic hand tools. Must possess a valid driver\'s license for insurance purposes. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience operating a caliper PLC and troubleshooting abilities necessary.
