Ohio Machinery Co General Manager CAT Rental Stores Cleveland in Broadview Heights, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide managerial and operational support and leadership for the development of the Regional Rental Operations Managers, Rental Sales Managers, Dispatch Managers, and Rental Store Managers for Cat® Rental Stores. As Ohio Machinery continues to grow its rental businesses, we will face different sets of challenges, which will require different types of support. Maintain involvement with branches to include training on any operation and sales issues. Develop Senior Coordinators to help improve branch performance. General Rental Manager to spend appropriate time at each branch. Work with Rental Asset Manager on rental fleets adds sales and maintenance issues. Work with the sales department on meeting company PINS objectives.

The customer base is to be diversified by proactively targeting industry segments that will result in a more stable revenue base. General Rental Manager to work with Rental Sales Managers to establish target industry segments for each representative and track performance. Results are to be reviewed with the Sales manager once per month. Act as a mediator with employee and/or customer disputes. Work closely with the credit/collections department.

Work with sales/marketing team members to stay informed of market conditions (competitors and utilization trends) and customer needs.

Analyze the local rental market and respond appropriately to changes in competitive offerings, market stability, and growth opportunities.

Direct customer contact routinely to ensure customer satisfaction levels.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree. Seven plus years of rental industry or equivalent experience in a closely related industry. Closely related industries would include construction, engineering, and equipment distribution.

Knowledge and understanding of the training and support capabilities within the Caterpillar organization. Knowledge and understanding of the startup procedures necessary for a rental store, as well as, a working knowledge of the operations, sales, service, and systems.

Must have excellent people skills, an enthusiastic personality, a proven communicator, and the ability to teach in the classroom. Sound organizational skills with the ability to coordinate programs and logistics associated with the programs. Mechanical aptitude would be very beneficial. Retail sales experience and customer relations would be beneficial. Must be able to delegate effectively.

A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Irental, DBS, and CAT-related software programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
