Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing Australia / New Zealand provides contract GMP testing to human and animal pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and complimentary medicine manufactures, as well as an extensive range of SPF and other cosmetics testing, both in-vitro and in-vivo in accordance with a range of local and international standards. The range of testing includes microbiological and chemistry on raw materials, in process and finished products, complemented by product formulation services. We operate out of sites in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Auckland, which are all GMP licensed by local regulators and are accredited to ISO 17025.  In addition to the provision of world class analytical testing, the laboratories also provide consultative services to their clients made available by a team of highly qualified scientists.

The Virus Assay Support Technician role is responsible for providing facility support activities for Global Pathogen Safety (GPS), Plasma Product Development (PPD) - Research & Development, at our Client facility located in Broadmeadows. The Virus Assay Support Technician will work alongside GPS scientists and managers to ensure departmental needs are met.

The GPS team have a Biosecurity Containment level 2 (BC2) and a Biosecurity Containment Level 3 (BC3) Facility at our Client site Broadmeadows. These have been accredited by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF). These facilities are also recognized for working in compliance with the Principles of Good Laboratory Practices by the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development, (OECD GLP).

The Virus Assay Support Technician will be working with live virus including human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis A virus (HAV), hepatitis E virus (HEV) and herpes simplex virus (HSV), along with other human and animal pathogens. Therefore, the candidate must be willing to be vaccinated and undertake serology testing as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • More than 2 years prior experience working in a GLP environment is preferred.

  • Prior experience working in a DAFF accredited Laboratory is preferred.

  • Laboratory Skills TAFE certificate or Diploma in an appropriate scientific field is preferred.
