Job Description

The Position

The Mechanical Engineer for Non-Standard Requests group – transforms non-standard requirements into technically and manufacturable feasible solutions, balancing innovation, technical constraints, and approval processes. Their work includes crafting 3D models, analyzing mechanical properties, selecting materials, and collaborating on prototype testing. Be part of small, diverse team that crafts and develops outstanding, customer-specific solutions, crafting innovative hardware tailored to non-standard requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing mechanical designs based on non-standard customer requirements, ensuring feasibility and manufacturability.

  • Application of engineering methods, techniques, and processes, with a strong focus on practical, hands-on problem-solving.

  • Providing input during specification reviews and feasibility assessments.

  • Ownership and maintaining of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Defining, implementing, and documenting test plans for mechanical components, including prototyping and validation testing.

  • Collaborate closely with project leaders, manufacturing, R&D, and global teams (GTS, OE) to communicate progress, address technical challenges, and propose alternative solutions.

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a combination of education and experience demonstrating the required skills.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar function

  • Proven experience in 3D CAD design and drafting for mechanical modules and systems.

  • Hands-on experience with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and crafting/updating BOMs.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to plan and resolve technical issues, collaborating efficiently across multi-functional and geographically teams with varied strengths.

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
