As part of our Shared Services group, comprised of Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Commercial, Legal and Facilities, we support the business achieve their goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure delivery of services through the skills of our people, methodologies, and systems.
Hatch is looking to engage a Financial Accountant to be based in our Brisbane office. The role has plenty of potential to grow, it is just waiting for the right person.
You’ll be responsible for the preparation of the financial reports on a yearly basis and contributing to month-end reporting. This will include preparing the annual consolidated AUA financial statements and engaging with auditors. Month-end responsibilities will focus on standard payroll costing and variance analysis. The role will give you an opportunity to develop into owning the financial reporting function, while becoming a key member of the Hatch global finance team. You will receive considerable coaching and mentoring from a passionate global team, to ensure you are set up for success.
As the successful candidate you will:
Prepare annual consolidated statutory financial statements
Liaise with auditors and prepare audit requests – Australian, New Caledonian and Indonesia audits
Lead standard month-end payroll costing & standard costing variance analysis
Preparation/review of finance lease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16
Review general ledger reconciliations
Prepare and review month-end & quarterly reports
Lead & establish improvement processes
Ad-hoc reporting and analysis
You bring to the role:
CA/CPA qualified
Minimum 3+ years accounting experience - Preferably receiving CA with big 4 and some post audit experience preparing financials or performing month-end duties
Technical accounting skills
SAP experience favourable
Ability to problem solve and seek improvements
An attitude to take responsibility, work within a team and constantly improve
Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
