Economic Mobility Pathways Residential Mentor in Brighton, Massachusetts

What will you be doing? Making an impact every day. You will be part of a dynamic, passionate team of professionals who work to support program participants and operations daily, ensure shelter safety through direct care and empathy while building community and kinship. The Residential Mentor will play a key role in directing participants as they enter and exit shelter as well as: Support daily shelter activities to ensure safety and operating procedures-including house logs, participant activities, and engagements with resources or external partners Works closely with Economic Mobility Coaches to support goal progress and achievement in activities of daily living through motivation and strengths-based engagement Support to family programming, initiatives or special projects What traits do you need to be successful in this role? Passion for and experience working with diverse populations, including persons experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse or mental health crises Strong soft skills or emotional intelligence needed to work under pressure or in complex situations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills, observant, and ability to make sounds judgements when necessary Ways to stand out of the crowd Bilingual in Haitian-creole or Spanish Associate?s Degree in human services, child welfare, hospitality or related field Why EMPath? Pay transparency: This hourly role has multiple shifts available (currently hiring for mornings, part-time mornings and evenings).
