Job Summary:
Dynamic Aviation is seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Production to lead the development and expansion of our production operations. This role will be responsible for standing up and managing production lines for the overhaul and repair of aircraft parts under Part 145 certification (issuing 8130 tags where applicable), new part manufacturing, PMA activities, and establishing an engine overhaul capability, beginning with turboprop engines. The Vice President of Production will also oversee the supply chain team, ensuring seamless integration into production operations, and will be a critical enabler for the Civil and Defense value streams as well as external customers.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and continuous improvement methodologies, with demonstrated success in designing and executing production cells using flow, pull, and takt concepts. This leader must have a proven ability to improve on-time delivery, reduce lead times, eliminate waste, and enhance quality across a dynamic and growing operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Line and Capability Development: Stand up and manage production lines for aircraft parts overhaul and repair (under Part 145), new part manufacturing, PMA initiatives, and aircraft engine overhaul capabilities.
Operational Leadership: Lead and manage all facets of production, including custom part reproduction, fabrication, manufacturing, overhaul, repair, and support operations for both internal and external customers.
Supply Chain Integration: Direct the supply chain organization, aligning material procurement, supplier management, and logistics directly with production and manufacturing requirements.
Continuous Improvement: Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints initiatives across all production operations. Implement flow, pull, and takt-based production cells to maximize throughput and minimize waste.
Performance Optimization: Set and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) around on-time delivery, lead time reduction, quality improvement, waste reduction, and cost efficiency.
Value Stream Support: Support Civil and Defense value streams by providing timely, high-quality parts, kits, and overhauled components to internal operational teams and external customers.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145 regulations, AS9100 standards, and applicable defense industry quality and operational requirements.
Team Building and Leadership: Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing production and supply chain team capable of supporting an evolving, high-demand operational environment.
Strategic Planning: Develop long-term plans for expanding production capabilities, introducing new manufacturing technologies, and ensuring the sustainability of growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Management; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior production, manufacturing, or overhaul leadership role within the aerospace or defense industry.
Demonstrated experience setting up and scaling production and MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) capabilities, preferably under Part 145 and PMA environments.
Deep understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints principles.
Experience designing and optimizing production cells and lines using concepts of flow, pull, and takt time.
Strong financial acumen, with experience managing operational budgets, capital investment planning, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor teams in a high-performance environment.
Familiarity with FAA regulations, Part 145 Repair Station requirements, PMA processes, and AS9100 quality systems.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
