Robert Half Staff Accountant in Bridgewater, New Jersey

Salary 60,000 – 70,000

My client, a manufacturing company located in the Bridgewater area has an opportunity to a Sr. Accountant.

  • The Staff Accountant will be responsible for AR and AP functions and other general accounting duties.

  • Generate AR Aging and other reports detailing accounts receivable status.

  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

  • Compliance: Ensure transactions comply with company policies and relevant regulations.

  • Schedule and process payments via checks, ACH, wire transfers to vendors.

  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.

  • Audit Support: Provide documentation and explanations for internal or external audits.

  • Invoicing and Billing - Generate and issue invoices to customers.

  • Review, code and enter vendor invoices into the system.

  • Research new customers for credit terms by analyzing credit reports and references.

  • .Assist with preparing and filing quarterly sales tax.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any payment issues.

  • Review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance.

  • Maintain AP aging reports and assist in managing cash outflows.

  • Month-End Close: Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized records for AR/AP processes.

  • Collaboration: Work with other departments (e.g., Sales, Procurement) to resolve financial issues.

  • Record customer payments and verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues

    Requirements

The ideal candidate will have

• 2+ years of experience in AR/AP or general accounting.

• Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced proficiency is a plus).

• Manufacturing industry highly preferred

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

• Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
