U.S. Marine Corps POLICE OFFICER in Bridgeport, California

Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the Operations Section of the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Dept. of Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center. Responsibilities You will respond to emergency calls, complaints, and other calls for service during the watch. You will perform motorized or walking patrols of the installation. You will conduct preliminary and non-criminal investigations ranging from minor incidents to more complex and serious incidents. You will subdue and disarm those who are doing violence to other persons. You will set up and conduct checkpoints/ roadblocks at various locations throughout the installation. You will perform traffic law control and enforcement using specialized equipment. You will take witness statements, gather information and facts and prepare detailed reports. You will issue citations for violations of laws and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgements based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws; AND six months of specialized experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. GS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least six months of general experience that includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgements based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Substitution of education for experience GS-03: Successfully completed one year of study at an accredited school above high school with at least 6 semester hours of study pertinent to police work. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Combination of education and experience GS-04 and GS-03: A combination of general/specialized experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal 100 percent.
