Health First System Retail Pharmacy Manager - Family Pharmacy in Brevard County, Florida

POSITION SUMMARY To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by functioning as the administrative and operations leader for Health First Family Pharmacies. A lead resource for Retail Pharmacy services across the IDN, emphasizing accountability, while leading and directing all activities necessary to ensure safe, quality delivery of medications to our community. Identify, develop, and implement service line policies to maximize revenue, along with the efficient and effective utilization of finance and human resources.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Supervise Retail Pharmacy Manager personnel.
  2. Establish and maintain effective communication and interpersonal relationships with associates, co-workers, and our community.
  3. Counsel direct reports and associates, evaluate grievances, resolve conflict, review, and approval all personnel actions.
  4. Establish and maintain a participative management environment supportive of developing and optimizing the workforce to meet organizational goals & objectives of patient safety, quality of care, customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, fiscal and program/service efficiency.
  5. Address and support workforce utilization efforts to achieve staffing standards, including review of staffing patterns, competency/proficiency, and retention programs.
  6. Provide leadership within Family Pharmacy in developing financial objectives, workforce, operations and capital budgets, and monitor variances regularly.
  7. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Ensures compliance with health system policies and procedures that apply to pharmacy services.
  8. Sustain professional competence and promote development through participation in in-services, workshops, seminars, webinars, and professional organizations.
  9. Perform staff pharmacist duties as applicable when necessary.
    1. Establish quality control mechanisms and accountability for medications dispensed to patients. Ensure adequate control, procurement, and documentation of controlled substances to include weekly inventory counts.
    2. Assist Division leader with the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the pharmacy that supports the mission and goals of the organization.
    3. Oversee, implement, and maintain a program that improves the quality of pharmacy services and supports the quality improvement plan of the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration. Work Experience:Five (5) years of pharmacy experience; Three (3) years of supervisory experience. Licensure:Current Florida license as Pharmacist. Certification:NA Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • **Knowledge of Pharmacy and Infusion industry – stay current on trends, best practices, procedures and regulatory to perform role effectively and to educate and inform others as needed.
  • Financial Acumen – manage budgets and review reports to achieve business objectives while satisfying quality and customer delight.
  • Communication – verbal, auditory, written; accurate and timely.
  • Customer Focus – drive customer delight throughout all Family Pharmacies and emphasize customer centricity.
  • Adaptable – manage conflicting priorities and unplanned events to ensure smooth and seamless operation.
  • Critical Thinking – use data and at times vague information to make decisions and set course of action to achieve result.
  • Problem Resolution – explain decisions based on data and circumstances to guide others in resolving challenges for customers, the operation, and interpersonal issues within the team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel to multiple locations; between pharmacies and meetings.
  • Stand, walk, bend and stoop for up to eight hours minimum.
