The Application Development Manager Meteorology for Europe is responsible for growing business and driving OTT HydroMet market position in meteorology market across Europe by leading the creation, improvement, and implementation of innovative sales strategies within the Sales team, targeted customer accounts and strategic channel partners and to increase share and profit in meteorological market segment. The role has a strong sales focus with a technical background as an interface between the sales team, influential key accounts and channel partners, product management, marketing and R&D departments. The successful candidate will ensure sustainable targeted growth in the different applications by demonstrating an engaging and inclusive leadership behavior.

This position is part of the sales department located in Fellbach, Germany and will be hybrid or remote .

In this role, you will:

  • Provide technical and application support to European sales team and channel partners to drive business with existing and new customers, mainly in these areas: Professional Meteorology, Research and Education, Meteorology.

  • Commercially and technically develop new applications based on existing product portfolio or identify and develop new markets for existing applications.

  • Build and maintain a network of customers and key decision-makers in the industry to successfully position OTT Hydromet as a key brand in the meteorological community while actively engaging with authorities, engineering firms, and other influencers to drive customer buying decisions.

  • Co-own the meteorology numbers, actively participate in discussions and activities with the management team in Growth Room and KPI meetings to ensure targets are achieved and agreed actions are implemented.

  • Participate in sales activities including customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations/evaluations, customer seminars and channel partner management.

  • Gather and analyze competitive activity, business opportunities, sales trends, and market insights, providing strategic input for regular business reviews.

  • Provide an important contribution to corporate programs and optimization processes including Kaizen events, new product development and equipment beta testing.

Are you qualified?

  • Highschool Diploma, Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred

  • 5+ years of direct and/or indirect technical sales experience, preferably in the field of meteorology (or other environmental science) and/or measurement technology; selling to federal, state and local government agencies as well as the research and education sectors

  • Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and departments in larger organizations to drive sales strategy, support growth and achieve targets

  • Willingness to travel as required within Europe and internationally

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in a technical and commercial context (English is a prerequisite, additional major European language is advantageous)
