SUMMARY: The Hot Runner Specialist/Service Technician will be primarily responsible for servicing and maintaining PET hot runners, including direct support of field related problems, managing field installations and start-ups, and participating in factory tests and customer buy-offs.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to customer sites to help setup, integrate, troubleshoot, support and maintain the equipment. Travel is mainly in the Americas, but not exclusively.
The position will involve direct professional interaction with customers, sales, and operations teams to execute preventative maintenance procedures, resolve problems, and help optimize equipment performance to expectations. The candidate must have sound knowledge and a proven record in this highly technical discipline, as well as direct field experience with PET preform molds and hot runners.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including hot runner assembly and detail drawings, as well as general mold assembly drawings
Read and understand hot runner electrical schematics
Perform electrical work on the hot runners
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with hot runners
Ability to assemble, disassemble, repair, and replace hot runner assemblies and components as necessary
Work closely with the StackTeck Canada PET team and the PET Program Manager on individual projects, as well as work with minimal supervision when necessary
Extensive travel is required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Ability to travel globally (valid passport, no visa restrictions)
5+ years experience in the PET preform molding business
Extensive hands-on work with PET hot runners
Field work on PET preform molding machines an asset
Ability to utilize tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial test indicators, and height measuring equipment
Understanding of PET preform part quality acceptance criteria an asset
Manage jobs well and deliver immediate action on equipment issues
Excellent knowledge of MS Office
College certificate or diploma in a technical field
Fluent in English both written and oral
Mold Makers certificate is an asset
