Beran Environmental Services, Inc. Civil CAD Design Technician/Crew Member in Boyers, Pennsylvania

Beran Environmental Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Civil CAD Design Technician/Crew Member for our office in Boyers, PA. Proficiency with AutoCAD is required with experience using Carlson Civil or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. The qualified candidate will be required to prepare plans used in the permitting process for sites such as oil and gas well sites, pipelines, surface mine (non-coal) site, solar farms, and commercial land developments. Typical plans will include site grading, stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, and stream and wetland crossing.

  • This position may require the candidate to perform fieldwork as part of the field survey team utilizing both GPS and conventional survey equipment. The candidate may also be asked from time-to-time to participate in other field work related to wetland delineations, wetland mitigations and stream rehabilitation projects. Project sites are typically located throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania. This position does require occasional out of town travel for which meal per diem and lodging is provided.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in civil CAD design preferred.
  • Experience with the following programs preferred: Carlson Civil, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Google Earth, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Word, Excel.
  • Experience with hydrology software such as HydroCAD and HEC-RAS a plus.
  • Experience using field survey equipment (GPS, total station, etc.) a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work with others as a team, and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.

The successful candidate shall have the following responsibilities:

  • Will work under the supervision of the design engineer on all projects.
  • Prepare plans that include layouts, profiles, sections, and details as required for the complete site design.
  • Complete designs for site grading, stormwater management, erosion, and sediment control, etc.
  • Write and compile reports for stormwater management and erosion control designs.
  • Prepare permit applications and packages for submission to various agencies.
  • Coordinate with other workers, clients, and agency officials.
  • Perform self-review of all design deliverables prepared for accuracy and constructability.
  • Learn the design standards and assist the civil site team to ensure that the designs are in conformance with the standards.
