Purpose of Position

The Budget Analyst Position reports to the Executive Budget Director. The purpose of the position is to assist the Director in developing, implementing and monitoring the University budget to ensure excellent stewardship of University funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

  • Assist in developing the annual University budget

  • Prepare and review revenue projections

  • Reconcile position data for new budget development

  • Review labor planning files in Axiom

  • Prepare and administer daily budget monitoring during budget development

  • Prepare documents and graphs for budget book

  • Assist in developing the biennial budget

  • Oversight of electronic budget transfers

  • Assist specific divisions with their annual operating budget

  • Prepare and submit annual FD forms required by CPE

  • Assist with budget vs actual monitoring reports

  • Perform financial analyses on an as needed basis for management decision making

  • Provide data to external sources upon request

    Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Proficiency with common computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail

  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in written format

  • Ability to work on simultaneous projects while meeting deadlines

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Additional Information:

Salary Range: $45,000 - $52,000
