Job Description:

Microchip Frequency and Time Systems (FTS), a world leader in precise time solutions, sets the world's standard for time. The company generates, distributes and applies precise time for the communications, aerospace / defense, IT infrastructure and metrology industries. FTS customers, from telecom service providers and network equipment manufacturers to governments and their suppliers worldwide, are able to build more reliable networks and systems by using our company's advanced timing technologies, atomic clocks, services and solutions.Job SummaryAs a Quality Engineer, you will have a direct impact on the daily success of our products and organization. You will be responsible for providing all levels of QA support to manufacturing operations at our site which includes leading and developing business quality assurance activities, developing staff, and engaging in cross-functional processes and teamwork. You will also implement and facilitate continuous improvement activities including quality, productivity and effectiveness improvements utilizing Six Sigma tools and practices at a site level and across our multi-site division.Duties & Responsib

Responsible for supporting site level quality systems, processes and procedures to assure product quality Responsible for engaging strong intradepartmental and cross-functional / organizational relationships to drive quality system requirements Support manufacturing operations by assisting in the identification, analysis and resolution of a broad range of product and process problems utilizing Six Sigma methodologies Review data, identify trends in the data, create histograms, pareto, and provide routine reporting to company management on observed trends in procured material quality and product quality, make recommendations for improvement and corrective action Support customers by providing failure analysis, root cause determination and corrective action implementation for returned materials, participate in manufacturing review board activities, quality audits and factory tours Perform root cause / corrective action analysis of failures in accordance with our corrective action process Analysis of non-conformities using internal systems in accordance with our non-conformance process Assist Inspectors with piece part quality issues and drive corrective action to completion. Interface with suppliers to resolve quality issues. Also interface with Engineering to enhance drawings and equirements that impact a supplier's ability to produce that part. Assist in the conducting of supplier quality system audits for the purpose of evaluating and re-evaluating suppliers. Ability to perform process audits at supplier sites. Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally. Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field and 2+ years experience and / or training in Quality. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently Establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives and receives guidance in terms of broad goals
