Job Summary:

The Technical Support Specialist will perform desktop software and peripheral device support to ensure the smooth operation of unclassified systems. Responsibilities will include installing and configuring approved software, performing release management, and delivering local Touch Labor services for troubleshooting and updates. Additionally, you will contribute to the configuration and maintenance of end-user devices, including computers, laptops, copiers, printers, scanners, and MFDs. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of help desk experience, a solid understanding of Microsoft OS, and expertise in Active Directory, Group Policies, and network troubleshooting. Job Responsibilities:

  • Desktop Software Services:

  • Installs and configures approved Common User desktop software on unclassified desktop systems.

  • Performs release management for commercial and standard software on desktop systems.

  • Provides local Touch Labor services for installation, troubleshooting, and software updates.

  • Resolves unclassified desktop system requests through remote administration actions.

  • Computers and Peripheral Devices:

  • Configures authorized unclassified end user network devices, including computers and laptops.

  • Evaluates requests for acquisition and life cycle replacement of end user devices.

  • Configures bulk authorized end user network devices.

  • Provides local Touch Labor services for installation, troubleshooting, and software updates on unclassified computers and peripheral devices.

  • Resolves requests for unclassified computers and peripheral devices through remote administration actions.

  • Configures authorized end user network devices on the SIPRNET.

  • Configures authorized unclassified copiers, printers, scanners, and MFDs, including CAC configuration, Certificate configurations, network configurations, and initial STIG/SCAP.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Minimum of one (1) years of professional experience within a help desk role.

  • Proficient with Microsoft OS's such as Windows 10.

  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting.

  • Solid technical troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficient in bulk imaging computers for life cycle replacement.

  • Familiarity with desktop baseline software included in Army Gold Master (AGM) builds.

  • Some knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, and Networks.

  • Familiar with network file shares, data synchronization, and backup techniques.

  • Proficient with hardware troubleshooting and installation.

  • Critical thinking skills, strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.

  • Current unexpired 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I certification:

  • A+ CE or

  • CCNA-Security or

  • CND or

  • Network+ CE or

  • SSCP or

  • IAT Level II or Level III certification is also acceptable (e.g. COMPTIA Security+).

  • Relevant Computing Environment Certification Such as MD-102: Managing Modern Desktops or equivalent.
