Your responsibilities will include supporting, developing, and helping manage high impact programs through your knowledge of IT infrastructure products development, manufacturing and services.

The TPM - GCBU is primarily responsible to be the customer facing technical program manager for projects and new program launches in the business unit. Although projects can be at times customer specific, there may be times that the projects are strategic in nature to business unit

and will be applied across multiple customers. Additionally this role provides collaborative technical support to Sales, Business Development, and in particular HPS (Hardware Platform Solutions) and the manufacturing sites. The role will require the TPM to consolidate and manage customer communication across various manufacturing program managers and HPS EPMs. This will include new and competitive proposals for design, manufacturing, and aftermarket services, including possibly new product areas for Celestica.

This TPM - GCBU will typically help manage various major projects that have large financial impacts and impact customer satisfaction for over $2B plus annual revenue in the business unit.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following;

  • Regularly interacts with senior leaders at assigned major customers. Interactions may involve customer presentations and technical value propositions, project updates, technical issues resolutions, or influencing & persuading other senior level mgrs.

  • Works with the HPS and the site teams to plan & monitor technical activities to ensure that project deliverables meet requirements & that projects/programs are on schedule.

  • Projects/programs include: New product development support, manufacturing readiness reviews & contract execution. Coordinates & hosts regular (as needed) program tracking meetings with the customer & internal account team members to ensure ongoing communication & up-to-date progress/status reporting occurs.

  • Coordination of major product launch or site transfer activities with sites, HPS, GCBU, and the customer (phase gate reviews, ramp readiness, resource readiness, etc.) Simulates the customer’s point of view in activities.

  • Helps manage customer technical perceptions and the overall customer relationship process.

  • Ability to help in the response to technical and manufacturing elements of RFIs/RFPs from the customer

  • Monitors internal plans to meet commitments & schedules for customers.

  • Communicates frequently with customer to help ensure satisfaction with the company & the products.

  • Acts as a customer advocate to drive prioritization of projects & responses to problems/issues.

  • Remove all technical hurdles required to successfully close opportunities

  • May require developing strategies, policies, practices, methods, programs or techniques & utilizing them to analyze & interpret difficult problems or situations &/or establishing new manufacturing processes and production solutions that are customer or site specific.

  • Collaborates with colleagues (executive, leadership and peers) to help execute new products and services for customers.

  • Analyzes technical program development process and performance relative to targets.Develops & implements plans to address problem areas if needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, schedules, and scheduling requirements, along with relevant Supply Chain issues.

  • In-depth knowledge of the business issues associated with manufacturing PCBs and L6 level assemblies in the communication and datacenter business.

  • Working knowledge of the structure and issues around product pricing, contracts, and contract negotiations for the CM/ODM business.

  • Understanding of business risks and pricing structure for CM/ODM business

  • Excellent customer contact, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

  • Fosters, promotes and facilitates cross-selling of Celestica wide products, services and capabilities.

  • Leverage external partnerships as needed(i.e. ASIC suppliers) to augment current capabilities and to enhance value proposition and market competitiveness

  • Acts as a customer advocate to ensure that the organization remains customer-focused

  • Ability to travel to customer locations and to manufacturing facilities of Celestica’s needed with high levels of customer contact

  • Ability to coordinate and work with 3rd party ASIC suppliers, customers, and Celestica

  • Product Line Marketing throughout the technology evaluation and implementation process as needed

  • Good presentation, database management and computer skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects to a successful end while working under tight customer deadlines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

  • Provides high value industry knowledge and consulting to customers on IT technology, architecture, products and services.

  • Extremely strong communication, interpersonal, relationship management and professional sales skills.

  • Strong reporting skills as well as time and priority management skills.

  • Strong team management skills and high level of ability to work with others as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to own, define, develop and execute a sales plan and consistently deliver on quarterly revenue targets.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment or manufacturing floor based from a home office

  • Moderate to significant amount of travel between customer and Celestica locations

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

Typical Experience

  • 10 to 15 years years of technology related engineering/marketing and business development experience.

Typical Education

Technical degree (BSEE, BS Computer Engineering/Computer Science) required
