Position: BPS- Safety Care Trainer
Location: Boston Public Schools
Employment Type: Stipended
Compensation:
Initial Safety Care Training: $1,080
Recertification Safety Care Training: $540
Overview:
The QBS Safety Care Trainer is responsible for delivering Safety Care training to staff across the school district, focusing on prevention, minimization, and management of behavioral challenges. This role involves training school personnel in strategies to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring that all interventions align with legal and ethical standards.
Time Commitment:
All work must occur outside of the contractual working day.
It is expected to take between 12-16 hours to complete the key responsibilities for each training.
Stipend payment is initiated upon confirmation that the sessions has been finalized in Trainer Connect and all materials have been uploaded in the system.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:
Conduct Safety Care training sessions for school staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators.
Demonstrate and teach physical safety techniques, verbal de-escalation strategies, and appropriate response protocols.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all training materials and practices comply with district policies, state and federal regulations, and ethical standards.
Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and certification statuses of staff.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: Current QBS Safety Care Trainer Certification
Employment Status: Must be a current BPS employee
Experience: Previous experience in a public school setting, special education, or behavioral management is highly desirable. Prior instructional experience as a currently certified QBS Safety Care Trainer or similar training program is preferred.

Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical interventions safely and effectively, as required by the Safety Care program.
Must be able to stand, walk, and participate in training activities for extended periods.
