Job Description

Job Duties:

Responsible for expanding and optimizing company’s data and data pipeline architecture, integrating data with multiple systems, and monitoring, analyzing and optimizing infrastructure, network and hardware environment to best support testing and deployment in continuous integration/continuous delivery environment. Duties include:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, product owners, business users, technical leads, business analysts and reporting teams to determine business needs and requirements to facilitate loading of data into data warehouse including creating ETL designs, mappings/sessions and workflows, performing gap analysis and recommending process improvements;

  • Use knowledge of database architecture to study needs of business teams and propose database design solutions;

  • Translate project architecture into efficient, scalable, maintainable and re-usable designs that are aligned with business and technical strategies;

  • Analyze and patch data in datahub/datamart to resolve data issues reported by business teams;

  • Translate requirements into business requirements documents, functional specs, ETL design docs and source to target documents;

  • Handle end to end development of ETL/ELT process during discovery, design, coding, and production deployment;

  • Create and maintain referential integrity, domain integrity and column integrity using database constraints;

  • Maintain inventory of environment details and coordinate with development and release teams to migrate code across environments;

  • Use input from business stakeholders to create and maintain data dictionaries for specifying data input and output formats;

  • Use Master Data Management (MDM) and feedback from business owners, stewards and/or custodians to ensure master data and policies are up-to-date;

  • Gather data metrics for business partners and research and suggest new technologies to improve business intelligence and data management across business functions;

  • Perform unit testing, system testing and functional testing of ETL jobs using data feeds received from source vendors;Collaborate with QA and Development Teams to write test cases and perform data validation to test functionality of features or programs before deployment; and

  • Collaborate with database administrators to optimize SQL queries, tune Informatica jobs and identify bottlenecks to enhance performance of slow running ETL jobs.

May telecommute from any U.S. location.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience providing technical and business consulting services.

Experience must include:

  • 5 years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems using knowledge of software development lifecycle;

  • 5 years of experience developing technical standards and strategic systems architecture to ensure business solutions adhere to strategic IT direction;

  • 5 years of experience designing database solutions focusing on reusability of components within IT organization;

  • 5 years of experience developing and reviewing technical design documents to ensure adherence to business and functional requirements for business initiatives, features and user stories;

  • 5 years of experience providing guidance for development, unit/integration testing and implementation of simple and complex business solutions;

  • 3 years of experience developing effective business/systems solutions including balancing complex business and technical issues;

  • 3 years of experience developing and presenting cost/benefit analysis of business solutions including evaluating alternative vendor solutions;

  • 5 years of experience providing systems support;

  • 5 years of experience using structured analysis and design techniques including design and development tools, methodologies and techniques;

  • 5 years of experience conducting technical assessments and estimation efforts for database initiatives;

  • 5 years of experience evaluating industry trends and emerging technologies to provide competitive advantage to business.

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location

Boston, Massachusetts

Salary range is expected to be between

$102,200.00 USD - $189,800.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
