Jacobs Rail Vehicle Engineering (Springfield, MA) in Boston, Massachusetts
Our team works collaboratively throughout the Jacobs office and we’re looking as a member of our overall consultant team to provide technical support for a variety of transit programs, including fleet procurements and overhauls, operations, maintenance, and general planning / strategy efforts. By joining our world class professionals you’ll be involved with field efforts for vehicle and infrastructure inspections, condition assessments and will develop specifications / reports individually or as part of a team. You’ll also provide project management and administrative support, as work efforts are identified, and responsibilities are delegated.
By joining us, you’ll provide technical and project management support for a variety of transit vehicle programs, including fleet procurements and overhauls, operations, maintenance, and general planning / strategy efforts. We’ll look to you to resolve design and system integration issues on transit vehicle projects.
You’ll support fleet procurements, manufacturing process improvements, technology assessments, first article inspections, troubleshooting, testing, problem resolution and failure investigations. Utilizing your professional expertise and industry knowledge we’ll look to you to provide strategic insight into production activities.
We’ll ask you to track project status and prepare periodic project progress reports. You’ll support other team members with team management, coordination, and technical expertise. You’ll provide oversight and quality assurance of vehicles, maintenance, and operations; log discrepancies and prepare reports. In this role, you’ll serve as a direct client contact on project matters
This role is located 5 days a week on-site in Springfield, MA
• Substantial professional expertise in rail transit vehicles with at least 10 years relevant experience.
• Good communications skills, detail oriented and ability to work independently are essential.
• Demonstrated capability with Microsoft Word and Excel for use in generation of internal and client reports.
• Ability to demonstrate experience with transit vehicles, maintenance, operations, testing, manufacturing, and quality assurance activities.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of transit vehicle industry standards and practices
