Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of various critical spaces within a 20-floor office building in downtown Boston. Your duties will include performing daily inspections of generator rooms, fuel pump rooms, and kitchen areas, as well as servicing a variety of equipment such as air filters, heat pumps, and plumbing parts. You will work closely with BBH staff and assist the head chef with kitchen appliance maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Tour critical spaces each morning to review for alarms, fluid leaks, and anything out of order.

  • Oversee generator rooms, fuel pump rooms, and assist with kitchen area maintenance.

  • Check in with BBH staff each morning after checks.

  • Service equipment including air filters, heat pumps, water filters (sink, refrigerators), lamps, ballasts, and plumbing parts (gaskets, cartridges, etc.).

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical, BMS, office, generators, fuel pump troubleshooting.

  • Preventive maintenance.

  • Class A electrical knowledge.

  • 2-4 years of commercial office experience.

  • Strong electrical knowledge.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Base building maintenance background.

  • Experience with plant equipment.

  • Knowledge of BMS and CMMS.

  • HVAC and plumbing repair skills.

  • Inventory management experience.

  • Experience working off work order CMMS system.

  • Experience with inventory and ordering parts.

  • Comfortable taking public transportation to work.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a 20-floor office building in downtown Boston, spanning 782,000 square feet. You will be working in a dynamic and engaging setting, equipped with the latest technologies and tools to support your maintenance tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.74 - $37.87/hr.
