Grooming Formulated ICA Sr. Engineer Job Description:
You will be a key member of the P&G Grooming ICA team delivering new products and process innovations, specifically on the formulated on-board chemistry team. ICA engineers at P&G are the glue that help build the digital landscape for all production equipment and help drive Industry 4.0 emerging technologies, digital manufacturing, and future automation trends including best -in -class online & offline quality inspection systems to enable superior innovation and products for the consumers. While the role is Boston based, we have plants all over the globe, and you will get the opportunity to travel to based-on business and project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for electrical/controls design designing, software development, managing the build, as well as installation/qualification of relevant equipment.
Build technical mastery that will deliver equipment/machine design to deliver new product initiatives, obsolescence, supply network optimization, and savings (cost, cash, and/or material savings).
Developing standards and documents including Design Basis, User requirements document and software design basis.
Effectively reviewing and approving standard ICA design documents and drawings.
Verifying ICA Equipment and installations that meet the regulatory requirements throughout all phases of project, including but not limited to OSHA, NFPA, CE, UL, etc.
Develop and troubleshoot controls system architecture via Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interface (HMI) and other industrial control devices.
The team is hybrid usually onsite 3 days a week in Boston GO Tech Center. Expectation is to be onsite daily when building equipment, validating, EO testing, etc.
Travel can be up to 25% in peak equipment VAT and installation periods
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
Rockwell PackML experience
Hardware experience - setup line and network connections, implement LEDS and Historian on PLC side
Rockwell FT View ME HMI programming experience, including recipe management
Can identify and design electrical schematics using ePlan
Can program intelligent relays and sensors
Familiar with pneumatic design and implementation
Familiar Machine Safety Validation Protocols and how they impact design and implementation of equipment.
(Desired) to have formulated experience with batching knowledge . Should understand State Models, Phase Control, Equipment Modules, Control Modules, and Sequential Function Chart programming
Must be able to read and understand a Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)
Familiar with pumps (all types), valves, RTDs, thermocouples, flowmeters, pressure transmitters, and 4-20ma / 0-10v devices and input cards
Must understand control loops for temperature, pressure and tension control.
Technical curiosity and passion to develop innovative solutions.
Ability to work independently, show initiative.
Possesses strong leadership capabilities and can work collaboratively with a team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage the technical aspects of a project through the complete design, manufacture, debug, and implementation & commissioning phases both at vendor’s and receiving sites with potential travel.
Excellent communication skills – team updates; engagement with peers, vendors, operators, and contractors.
Teamwork/ Collaboration: Ability to work across disciplines and departments to build consensus and align technical direction
