About the Role:
We are looking for a Federal Engagement Manager to join our Public Sector Professional Services team under the Customer Success organization. As an Engagement Manager, you will assure Customer success by driving customer satisfaction throughout the Professional Services life-cycle for key Public Sector customers, from orchestrating the engagement to successful delivery and beyond. As a Confluent Ambassador, the Engagement Manager ensures our customers are getting the most value out of our products and services by preparing, managing the delivery, and following up on our professional services engagements. Acting as an important Professional Services contact for our key customers, the Engagement Manager is a long-term, relationship-based, customer-facing role. Besides customer-facing activities, the Engagement Manager is involved in supporting the Professional Services Team by working on new offerings, developing engagement processes, positioning additional Professional Services, and building a first class Professional Services Team. The role is remote. However, the East Coast time zone is preferred.
What You Will Do:
Own and drive the successful delivery of multiple customer engagements and internal project initiatives, effectively managing customer expectations and project schedules.
Take ownership of project delivery, managing schedules, milestones, and ensuring the successful completion of all deliverables. Responsible for customer satisfaction throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.
Develop and present client-facing materials such as solution presentations and project plans, as well as internal status reports.
Consult with customers to thoroughly understand their requirements, analyze the engagement scope, and assess the time, cost, and potential benefits.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Engineering to work on offerings and proposals containing Professional Services.
Act as the Professional Services representative in customer planning sessions, developing and implementing a tailored PS strategy for assigned accounts, and utilizing Salesforce for project scheduling, progress tracking, and accurate record-keeping.
What You Will Bring:
Exceptional interpersonal and virtual communication skills, demonstrating a customer-centric attitude, the ability to effectively handle critical situations, and confidence in presenting and engaging on camera for both internal and external interactions.
Proven experience leading and successfully delivering software development projects using various methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle. This includes excellent service delivery, time, project, and priority management skills, as well as experience with project financial fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively drive engagements to successful outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to constant change.
Ability (and willingness) to travel up to 25% of the time to client engagements
Must possess or be able to obtain a US DoD Security clearance; PMP certification is highly desirable.

This position has an annual estimated salary of $145,800 - 171,360 and a competitive equity package. The actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
