Stryker Senior Operations Manager - NOLA (Hybrid) in Bogotá, Colombia

What you will do:

The position is fully responsible for the performance of overall operations in NOLA region, for both direct and indirect operations.

The main objectives are to provide clear leadership and strategic direction to the team, promote and develop talent across the organization, create a reputation of excellence and ensure a 'Best in Class' organization is created and maintained, drive and improve customer satisfaction/experience and develop and optimize end-to-end supply chain processes and reduce costs.

This role will promote teamwork, collaboration, and integrity, and will guarantee quality performance standards are achieved and exceeded, to ensure that results are delivered in accordance with the strategic plans, objectives and customers' contractual agreements.

Essential duties & responsibilities:

  • Oversee the logistics, kitting, and customer service operations in NOLA region (Colombia + Puerto Rico), managing direct and indirect operations.

  • Ensure organizational readiness, alignment with customer needs and delivery capability for the required service levels.

  • Lead and oversee all activities related to budget and headcount plan, including budget, headcount projection and long-and short-term resource capacity planning.

  • Build and develop a strong operations team, with emphasis in talent development to build a robust talent and succession pipeline.

  • Lead the development, modification, and improvement of the overall Stryker distribution network to support the commercial GTM strategy.

  • Manage and develop current and future 3PL activities to drive improvements in SLAs while meeting Stryker's requirements for quality, sustainability, and compliance.

  • Guarantee all operations are in line with the applicable global and local quality standards, internal policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and performance that results in increased efficiency and cost savings, and safety, quality and productivity improvements.

  • Partner with the commercial leadership team to pursue the highest level of service.

  • Develop, monitor, and manage operational KPI's to proactively measure and improve operations performance.

  • Support cross-region best practice programs by actively participating, sharing and adapting best practice learnings back into the specific region as part of simplifying how we operate within Stryker.

  • Performs other related work as assigned by management.

What you need:

Education & special trainings:

  • Degree level in Business / Logistics / Supply Chain management.

  • APICS accredited or professional supply chain accreditation is recommended.

  • Formal training in Lean, Process Excellence, Six Sigma tools, etc. is recommended, formal Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is desired.

  • English is required, Portuguese is highly recommended.

Qualifications & experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related fields are required.

  • 10+ years' experience in people management with proven organizational development experience.

  • Experience in the Medical Devices, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, or Automotive industries.

  • High sense of customer service orientation.

  • Experience in influencing multiple teams and groups across an international organization.

  • Proven experience implementing and leading Lean improvement initiatives with a focus on operational efficiency using tools such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and 5S.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships that help achieve results and influence employees/managers at every level of the organization.

  • Hands on work experience with and knowledge of logistics management, warehousing, fulfillment, inventory, planning, supply chain, order management and MRP tools / system.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies in terms of set-up, capacity planning and optimization.

  • Proven track record in driving operational performance via strong leadership and change management skills.

  • Well versed in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio or other flow-charting software and/or Microsoft Project (or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of IT systems & tools and their implications for business processes (JDE).

Other requirements:

  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and multi-task.

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to communicate complicated issues effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform consistently under varying business pressure as well as ability to adapt to a quickly changing environment.
