Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Program Manager, The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in the execution of global IT/Technology projects within budget and on time.

The Project Manager will liaise with Business Analysts, Business teams, IT technical teams and service providers to run Projects and manage issues, risks and manage/execute all related tasks to successfully deliver Projects against agreed plans and budgets.

Working within a customer-first framework, the Project Manager is part of a global team of Project Managers responsible for delivery of Projects within the Convatec’s CX Transformation program.

The Project Manager will be working with members of the Global Portfolio & Program Management Team, Project Management Office (PMO), Chaired Steering Groups, Business Partners, Subject Matter Experts, IT technical teams, vendors and business teams to execute Projects.

The Project Manager works with the business sponsors to align objectives, agree value, set and budget controls, timescales and secure resources required for delivery as well as the financial controller to closely manage all financials aspects of the Projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage Projects in a global environment.

  • Manage budgets, reporting actuals, planned and forecasted costs to the sponsors, budget line holder on a monthly basis.

  • Manage the people resource strategy for the Projects, mindful of Convatec’s ambition to increase inhouse knowledge, expertise and to manage and staff projects with internal resources.

  • Facilitate the budgeting process. Providing a clear rationale for expenditure and the expected benefits/value that will be realised in Projects.

  • Create and track Project planing and the value to be delivered for the business.

  • Monitor and report on progress, utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout project execution.

  • Manage the Project status reporting structure and cadence.

  • Monitor and measure Projects ongoing impact/effectiveness against the declared value.

  • Establish, and continously review, ways of working between workstreams that enhances and motivate the teams to deliver the Project´s objectives.

  • Work with Convatec’s Project Management Office (PMO) to track and report the Project´s progress throughout the StageGate Process.

  • Manage and Harmonize Communication plans to wider stakeholder groups. Ensuring the communications reflect the needs of the different stakeholder groups.

  • Carry out mid-year reviews of Projects to identify improved ways of working and whether the objectives of the Programmes and Projects remain relevant or require a management review.

  • Act as an escalation point for the Project Teams to unblock issues.

  • Maintain Up to date information for Projects in the Project Management Tools.

  • Maintaining project documentation and reporting to senior leadership (RAID logs, plans, trackers, presentations etc.)

  • Documentation and adherence to processes and procedures.

  • Management of project financials in collaboration with the PMO/IT Financial Controller.

  • Coordinate and Lead project meetings.

Required Experience / Technical Background

  • 8+ years of IT experience, Proven track record in planning and execution of IT Projects and digital transformation initiatives.

  • Experience leading end to end, larger IT/Technology projects Globally.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Project Management Qualifications (PMP, Scrum, Agile etc.)

  • Experience working in a complex Global organization in a project management role

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, quality, budget, and timelines.

  • Knowledge of hosting, network, and end user compute technologies beneficial

  • SAP experience

  • The ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, globally.

  • Ability to inspire trust and confidence in key stakeholders.

  • Financial management skills - comfortable with all aspects of financial management of Projects.

  • The ability to present the status of Projects in a way that all stakeholders can understand and relate to.

  • Experience with contract negotiations (Terms and Conditions) and Statements of Work (Commercials).

  • The ability to apply and report KPIs that align operational processes to commercial needs.

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and motivating Program/Project management and staff to increase service and staff performance, end-user satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.

  • Leadership presence with the ability to increase service and Project team performance, end-user satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.

  • Must have worked extensively in a regulated MedTech/Pharma organization of similar size and complexity.

  • Experience applying Project Management tools and knowledge bases.

  • Proven expertise in creating, documenting, and disseminating IT Project information.

  • Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency, ensuring Projects are delivered on time and on budget.

  • Track record of establishing strong relationships and partnerships with business/IT, clients/customers.

  • A strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, maintaining the quality of services, and fostering transparent and proactive communication.

  • Experience collaborating closely with all IT teams to foster a shared, customer-centric culture.

  • Ability to facilitate and drive alignment across teams, work with key stakeholders across the business and technology to implement the service strategy, vision, and IT Roadmap initiatives.

  • Good English level is required (B2 or Above)
