Location Description The Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania facility is 1,120,845 square feet and home to about 470 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits® and 9Lives®. This location has a cannery that produces wet dog food and there is also a Distribution Center on-site. Bloomsburg is home to Bloomsburg University, a municipal airport, a landmark Town Park with many acres of recreational activities, and has one of the largest and longest running fairs in the country. With so much to do and see, Bloomsburg is a great place to live, work and play! Responsibilities Multiple shifts available. This position is on a 12-hour rotational scheudle. Every other weekend is required. Pay: $24.33/hour starting rate. It is the responsibility of each employee to perform their work in a manner which will not endanger their own safety and will protect the health and safety of others, and to cooperate and participate in the safety and health programs of the company. Each employee shall be aware of the importance of the element of quality in their daily job function. The employees shall be able to comply with the cGMP’s (current Good Manufacturing Practices) section 21-CFR-110 pertaining to the manufacturing and distribution of food. The employee should be able to maintain a constant awareness of the appropriate and proper personal hygiene for a food manufacturing facility, be able to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions (WI) that produces a safe and quality product that meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations. Employees shall also be aware that our customers may request additional measures to be taken in quality and food safety systems such as those put forth in the Global Food Safety Initiative that include the British Retail Consortium (BRC). Essential Job Functions: NOTE: These requirements describe the main duties of the job, but are not considered a detailed description of every duty that may be assigned or required to be performed. Manual labor, job requires lifting of machinery and equipment. Must tear down production equipment and reassemble. Must work with alkaline and caustic chemicals. Work involves being outside year round dumping meat waste tubs. Will be working in water much of the time. Must work with minimal of supervision. Work involves the use of high pressure hoses; steam and air hoses. Clean overhead lines. Assure compliance to all quality standards. Assure compliance to all cGMP requirements. All other duties assigned. Qualifications Ability to see, read, and communicate with others. Possess basic math and computer skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 1-2 years experience in a similar role preferred. HS Diploma or GED required.
