The Technical Services team delivers test data as a finished product for our internal customers as they help Donaldson advance filtration for a cleaner world. As a Principal Engineer you will use Six Sigma methodologies to improve all areas of our global laboratory organization. Role Responsibilities: You will be responsible for driving the harmonization of testing and reproducibility of test results across our global footprint of laboratories. You will devise and implement procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of our complex testing equipment. You will be a change agent, driving global cross-functional teams to identify and carry out desired improvements. You will collaborate with our lab management to ensure quality standards are in place and documentation is compliant with requirements. You will be the expert voice to senior leadership, our internal customer base, as well as our technician staff, effectively communicating with all levels. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of Six Sigma principles. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination with academic experience. Black Belt certified in Six Sigma. Proven record of using statistical analysis methods and techniques to understand variables and their impacts to solve complex problems. Experience using Python, R, Minitab, Tableau, Microsoft BI or equivalent tools for statistical analysis and reporting. Expert with root cause corrective action techniques. Ability to enter unknown areas of technical expertise to discern relevant inputs and outputs of a test method, system or process. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills and confidence to brief senior leadership. Ability to work in and lead cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues. Proven track record of adaptability, ownership, and meaningful results. Understanding of technical specifications and their application in a testing environment. Working knowledge of inspection tools, methods and techniques used for hardware reviews, validation and inspections. Ability to identify weakness and areas of non-compliance, providing continuous improvement to existing methods, processes and procedures. Foundation in Quality and Process improvement. Experience with ISO9001, ISO13485, IATF16949, or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
