Delta Network Services Shipping and Receiving Lead / Project Specialist in Bloomfield Township, Michigan

Delta is looking for a mature and trustworthy candidate who will primarily function as Delta's shipping and receiving department. Incoming deliveries will be received into our system and fulfilled from that system and shipped to our customers or fulfilled to our staging area for configuration and testing. The hours are normally Monday -- Friday, 8:00 -- 5:00, after hours work available during the busy season (spring and summer). Delta uses Oracle's NetSuite cloud-based system. Knowledge of its use would be helpful, but we can train the candidate as needed. Delta also uses Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams) for documentation and communication with coworkers so the successful candidate must be able to use a computer for web access to NetSuite and use of the Microsoft products. The shipping and receiving person will also be responsible for maintaining our day-to-day inventory of products and will perform annual inventory functions. The shipping and receiving person will also be responsible for monitoring and supervising the day-to-day operations and maintenance of our facility (approximately 10,000 sq ft). This will include interacting with our snow plowing company, lawn service and other vendors as needed. Delta has a company van and trailer that are used for large deliveries to our customers and job sites. The candidate must have a clean driving record and the ability to drive the van and back the trailer to the necessary location. Larger jobs may include delivery to each building and delivery within the building to the designated locations. The candidate that has good mechanical skills and aptitude and is good working with their hands would be a plus as we encounter situations from time to time that require these types of needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); prior experience helpful but not required.
  • Military veteran service preferred but not required.
  • Drivers License and Clean Driving Record.
  • Be able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Forklift or walk behind lift will be used (We will provide training if needed).
  • Computer skills. Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams).
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Trustworthy.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able bodied and able to move up to 100 lbs. and lift 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent reaching above/below shoulder and forward.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, and crouching.

Responsibilities:

Prepare paperwork for daily shipments and process domestic shipments.

Schedule and track freight pick-ups and deliveries with carriers.

Process shipping forms and create shipping labels.

Filing and organization of Data.

Determine which items need to be picked, checked and shipped from sales orders.

Pull orders according to the sales order and recheck them to ensure accuracy.

Prepare items for delivery to the customer.

Secure packages to make sure no items are damaged in shipping to customer.

Prepare customer returns for shipment back to Distribution Center, Fulfillment Center, or supplier. Process RMA's.

Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to established organization of products.

Check all products received to ensure they are in good condition and correct quantities.

Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe working environment.

Deliver items to customers; obtains signature from customer to validate receipt of items.

Receive items in the computer system to show which items are available for orders.
