Our mid-size general contracting client is seeking a passionate project manager to join their team. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning and implementation of projects for our customers. This includes managing the project from project kickoff through completion of contract. They will define the goals, project tasks, and resource requirements for successful on-time project completion while maintaining excellent relationships with customers. The Project Manager is also responsible for pre-sale coordination and communication with sales, estimating, and the customer during design, budget, and quoting phases.
Responsibilities
Lead project teams in the successful completion of construction projects.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and financial controls.
Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners' representatives, and subcontractors.
Manage safety risks and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Review and award subcontractor proposals.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals.
Monitor project progress and address issues proactively.
Stay updated on industry best practices and innovations.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Essential Skills
5+ years of project management experience working on commercial projects for a general contractor.
Completed multiple commercial construction building projects as a project manager.
Strong understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, cost control, and quality management.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to read and comprehend commercial blueprints.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
Valid Driver's License.
Subcontractor management.
RFI management.
Construction safety.
Inspection.
Blueprint reading.
Pre-task planning.
Reports writing.
Procore.
Change order management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar (Highly Preferred).
Proficiency using Procore (training available).
Work Environment
The project manager will report to the Bloomfield Hills office, but will have the opportunity to work on a hybrid schedule. The work hours are Monday-Friday 8-5PM. The role involves spending 50% of the time in the field and the rest in the office. The position includes a $500 monthly vehicle allowance and a $100 phone allowance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.69/hr.
