The Otis Service Center Sheet Metal Shop is looking for a Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. The shift is from 06:00 AM- 3:00 PM.
On a typical day you will:
Duties include setting up and operating multiple HASS mills as well as minor powder coating. The Sheet Metal Shop is responsible for engraving, beveling, and producing lower-level parts for mechanical assemblies. The candidate must be a team player committed to continuous improvement and can work in a fast-paced environment. Adhere to assigned work schedule, including start time and annual inventory. Adhere to Otis’ Absolutes: Safety, Ethics, and Quality.
What you will need to be successful:
Education
- The successful candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent. A certificate from a trade school is preferred.
Experience/Qualifications
Candidate should have knowledge and understanding of basic machining skills.
The individual should possess a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
Ability to independently set up machines for production use.
Ability to read and interpret programs, prints, and setup sheets.
Must understand cutting speed and feed rates for tooling and materials.
Must be able to read and use a variety of inspection tools.
Perform preventative maintenance on machines
Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Able to accommodate changes in production and work schedules in order to meet deadlines
Ability to adhere to safety and quality standards.
Minimum of 1- 2 years’ operating a CNC mill preferred, and welding experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception.
If an item weighs more than 50 lbs., the employee must ask for assistance lifting and/or using the appropriate crane, forklift, or other lifting devices and/or techniques.
