Overview
The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences, along with the Technology, Design, and Technical Education department, are looking for a Business Assistant II. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities include Business Services office support, human resource functions, equipment management, and other duties as assigned. This position will be located in Blanding, Utah.
Responsibilities
Functions as office support for the Business Services Team
Performs human resource functions for part-time employees, including on-boarding, job postings, payroll, and employment action forms.
Assists Business Manager with equipment management
Analyzes data and generates reports
Prepares various documents such as contracts, agreements, and claims
Prepares and distributes bills and statements
Makes purchases in accordance with University policies and practices
Develops and maintains record keeping systems
Develops and maintains spreadsheets and databases to track information
Reviews and reconciles financial records
Coordinates and attends various meetings
Monitors project status to verify correctness and completion
Prepares travel arrangements and documents in accordance with policies and procedures
May provide coordination of documents required for business transactions
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four years of related work experience; or an associate degree/technical training plus two years of related work experience; or a bachelor's degree in a business field is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounts payable procedures.
Knowledge of accounts reconciliation and ability to reconcile accounts.
Knowledge of methods, practices, and terminology used in preparing and maintaining financial and statistical records/reports.
Knowledge of purchasing policies and practices for a public institution.
Skilled with computer programs, including spreadsheets and relational databases.
Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.
Ability to work without supervision.
Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
Excellent customer service skills.
