Aston Carter Plant Controller in Blair, Nebraska

Description:

  • Lead plant accounting, maintaining standard costs and material master data.

  • Oversee monthly manufacturing and inventory reconciliation, addressing variances and optimizing inventory levels.

  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and annual close duties to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Manage the Fixed Asset Process, review internal controls, and contribute to system understanding, including SAP.

  • Lead efforts through strong collaboration with our overseas team to capitalize a new production facility overseas, ensuring processes are consistent globally.

  • Identify strengths and areas of improvement for direct reports, aligning training to meet company needs and enhance skill development.

  • Drive cross-functional exposure and robust collaboration with other departments by spearheading diverse projects and delegating activities strategically.

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous feedback, constructive coaching, and mentorship for improved technical skills and problem-solving.

  • Partner with the Controller – Financial Planning & Analysis on annual budgets, analyze budget vs. actual results, and assist with year-end tax reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in driving improvements in costing and fixed assets within a process manufacturing environment.

  • Proven ability to apply a deep understanding of GAAP principles and leverage experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.

  • Effective people management skills, including effective delegation and driving a collaborative work environment.

  • 5+ years experience in cost accounting, including physical inventory and financial statement analysis.

  • Ability to analyze data, prepare meaningful reports, and maintain customer relationships.

  • Strong customer focus and service orientation with cross-cultural effectiveness.
