Job Description

Danfoss Power Solutions, located in Jackson, MI has an opening for a Manager of Supply Chain. The position is responsible for the Supply Chain function in the Jackson facility and is a member of the Plant Level Leadership Team reporting to the Plant Director.

Job Responsibilities

Provide for the flow of raw materials, finished parts, and assemblies to assure meeting sales forecast requirements.

  • Analyze forecasts, inventories, vendor lead times, production capacity to determine production schedules.

  • Work closely with various teams in Manufacturing, Engineering, etc regarding production requirements, capacity, due dates, and availability of parts/material.

  • Accountable for driving Supply Chain cost out and departmental continuous improvement activities.

  • Develop and own the long-term strategic plan for the SCM function.

Coordinate production operations with the requirements for finished products and the needs for material and labor.

  • Prepare and issue periodic status and activity reports.

  • Develop and implement departmental procedures.

  • Create improvements and desirable modifications in organization procedures, policies, standards, specifications, methods, processes and equipment within Supply Chain.

Provide for the timely, efficient movement of materials to and from designated production, storage, receiving and shipping locations.

  • Support indirect manufacturing employees engaged in shipping, receiving, transporting materials, stocking, storing and handling material.

  • Schedule and plan work activity, providing for contingencies and responding to expedites.

Adhere to, and support, all facility safety guidelines, communication and participation of employees to further identify and reduce/eliminate potential hazards.

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 3 years Supply Chain leadership experience within a Manufacturing environment; 5 or more years buying, planning & scheduling experience is required.

  • MRP systems knowledge (SAP/MfgPro experience preferred)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials planning and inventory control processes

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to manage and develop a team

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

  • APICS Certification(s)

  • Broad knowledge of production control techniques and effective coordination between key manufacturing functions

  • Strong, effective communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all levels

  • Proven leadership skills
