Regular Fulltime Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly Reports to: HEP Program Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
Eligibility/Selection/Enrollment/Attendance:
- Administer education content, information, guidance, and preparation for the GED examination.
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
- Establish and enforce rules and procedures for student behavior and expectations.
- Prepare for classes and keep written evidence of preparation (i.e., lesson plans)
- Assign and grade class work and homework.
- Observe students to determine qualifications, limitations, abilities, interests, and other characteristics.
- Document students academic skills & development.
- Develop class schedules per student need.
- Conduct academic assessments and develop IEPs for each student.
- Along with the HEP Project Coordinator and HEP staff, set appointments for GED testing with local IHEs
- Co-coordinate and co-facilitate new student orientation.
- Comply with all grant requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Assess new students per standards and procedures set forth by CC Idaho
- Submit program reports, participant attendance sheets, test scores, transcripts, certificates, etc. in a timely manner.
- Supervise HEP Instructional Assistant
- Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and attend opportunities for professional development as required.
- Incorporate and utilize audio and visual equipment during instruction.
- Prepare and advise students for further education by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities such as college courses, internships, prospective employers, job placement services, or military service.
- Refer students to ESL classes at local GED centers.
- Refer students to remedial programs for students requiring extra help.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate degree with emphasis in education
- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting.
- Experience working with adult/youth migrant and seasonal farmworker population.
- Experience presenting/instructing within a classroom or similar setting.
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and methodologies
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Current driver\'s license and proof of auto insurance
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred
- Bachelors degree or higher in Education, Adult Education, or related field
- 2+ years experience in classroom/teaching setting
- Negotiation and mediation skills
Required Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl; to reach with hands and arms; to climb or balance; and smell
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Work Environment
Work in an office or classroom setting; may be exposed to electrical shock and fumes or airborne particles; the work may be stressful; the noise level is moderate to elevated
