Position Title : Talent Acquisition Specialist II or Senior

Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for assisting to identify, recruit, and screen potential qualified individuals for jobs at all facilities within Basin Electric by following policies and procedures of the Cooperative. This position will follow the federal and state government labor laws to ensure the Cooperative is compliant. Working in a team environment, this position is responsible for the recruitment and selection programs for all Basin Electric Power Cooperative positions.

Essential Functions:

  • Participates with effective recruitment for all locations in the Basin Electric Power Cooperative. Efficiently and effectively fill open positions in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to: posting jobs internally and externally, reviewing and screening all on-line resumes and applications, coordinate interviews, and maintain integrity of data in recruiting software. Provide a high level of customer service to hiring managers and applicants.

  • Participates with program development; enhance and implement recruitment strategies that align with the Cooperative standards and current trends to stay competitive in the talent market.

  • Complete all required verifications for onboarding such as: reference checks, driver’s license verification, education verification, and background checks.

  • Process appropriate relocation reimbursement based on the employee guidelines.

  • Work with hiring managers to train them to use applicant tracking software and how the hiring process works.

  • Coordinate with other Human Resources staff to ensure position justifications and descriptions are up to date. Work with the Talent Acquisition team to post and advertise jobs to reach the most qualified applicants.

  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition Manager to provide status updates for hiring managers on a regular basis and track job posting status on a weekly basis.

  • Attend career fairs to assist with recruitment efforts and provide awareness for the Cooperative. Assist educational institutions with providing awareness of the Cooperative’s jobs and the hiring process in a classroom setting.

  • Assist with metrics development to create reports and identify hiring efficiency and quality of hire.

  • Establish relationships with agencies that support Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s affirmative action efforts.

  • Maintain recruitment data in the applicant tracking system (ATS).

  • Conduct presentations and training.

Qualifications:

Talent Acquisition Specialist II:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related field and 3+ years of related talent acquisition experience; or

  • Associate degree in business, human resources or a related field and 6 years of related talent acquisition experience; or

  • High School Diploma and 8 years of talent acquisition experience.

Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related field and a minimum of 6+ years of related talent acquisition experience; or

  • Associate degree in business, human resources or a related field and 8 years of related talent acquisition experience; or

  • High School Diploma and 10 years or talent acquisition experience.

Other Requirements:

  • General working knowledge of human resources, equal employment opportunity (EEO), and federal and state labor laws.

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Strong presentation and networking skills.

  • Able to travel to various school campuses as needed.

  • A valid driver’s license.

Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:

This position requires frequent sitting and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines.
