Cardinal Health Sr Consultant - Transportation in Bismarck, North Dakota
Job Summary:
The Senior Consultant will ensure that our Cardinal Medical segment achieves both service level and contractual obligations for our commercial carriers. This role involves managing the performance of carriers for both final and middle mile deliveries by partnering with internal and external business partners and ensuring contractual compliance.
Responsibilities
Service Level Management:
Partner with each site to ensure unadjusted on-time performance meets corporate goals.
Proactively identify and resolve challenges and opportunities within the logistics process.
Support customer implementation and disengagement processes.
Collaborate with customer service escalation teams.
Manage relationships with courier partners, ensuring timely completion of requests.
Contractual Compliance:
Manage contractual compliance to ensure delivery on budget commitments.
Identify areas of opportunity such as mode consolidation and inefficient carriers.
Manage relationships with the carrier base across all modes of transportation.
Financial Management:
Manage financial components of the logistics operation, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
Identify and implement cost savings opportunities.
Ensure budget accountability and adherence to financial guidelines.
Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
Continuously evaluate and optimize logistics processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all logistics processes, ensuring standardization and consistency.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
8+ years of experience in logistics and carrier management preferred
Deep knowledge of transportation modes such as LTL, Truckload, Intermodal, courier, and parcel and contractual agreements.
Preferred Certifications: APICS
Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau preferred
Experience with bid tools such as Jaggaer and Bid Sense preferred
Strong analytical skills to identify and address areas of opportunity.
Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
Ability to work independently with little direction as well as collaboratively as part of a team with both internal and external partners.
Travel Expectations: 15%

Anticipated salary range: $86,400 - $123,400
