B.L. Harbert International is seeking an I.T. Service Technician to work in the International Group Headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. The I.T. Service Technician will have a broad range of responsibilities ranging from fixing normal computer issues to server maintenance to new equipment setup to phones and printers. No two days are the same; it is a fast-paced environment full of learning opportunities and new experiences both from a human and technical perspective. Position will require occasional international travel for jobsite support.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist our overseas service team lead in overseeing and supporting all project operations
  • Perform break/fix (Support Desk) remediation for the I.T. team
    • Make sure our break/fix service level agreements (SLAs) are met, half business day for normal events
    • Make sure our Birmingham new user deployment SLAs are met
    • Create accounts/email addresses for the International Groups overseas users
    • Provide feedback and suggestions from the field to assist management in making possible future operational process amendments
  • Assist in the International Groups phone system management (WebEx)
  • Assist in the International Groups mobile phone management (Meraki/Verizon)
  • Assist in equipment procurement and life cycle process
  • Assist in inventory management and documentation
  • Assist in special projects and disaster remediation
  • Printer Management: responsible for basic troubleshooting, replacing consumables, and coordinating 3rd party technicians when necessary for the International Groups home office fleet of printers and plotters
  • Assist in the process and documentation revision process
  • Assist in new project deployments including international travel to the project location
  • Perform maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various systems including various Server 2016/2019 tasks

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years professional experience in the I.T. field, strong preference in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office focusing on Excel and Outlook
  • Expanded availability to meet deliverables outside of normal business hours

Physical Demands:

To perform the duties of this job, the employee must:

  • Have the ability to repetitively use hands to grasp, reach above and below with arms, and work overhead
  • Have the ability to stoop, bend, walk, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Have the ability to lift, carry and/or move up to 60 lbs. of weight in the form of paper, boxes, files, etc.
  • Have the ability to sit for extended periods with occasional standing required
  • Possess the manual dexterity to operate office equipment, filing, and perform specialized skills
  • Possess a high degree of concentration necessary in a busy office environment
