Robert Half Accounts Payable Lead in Bingham Farms, Michigan
Description We are searching for a meticulous and diligent Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to join our team in Bingham Farms, Michigan. In this role, you will be expected to oversee a range of accounting activities, including month-end close activities, vendor invoice verification, and the creation of procedures. You will also play an integral role in the training of team members and the execution of other accounting duties as necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Verify vendor invoices to ensure they are accurate and entered correctly
• Review invoices and check requests into the Accounts Payable system
• Ensure all invoices adhere to the Accounts Payable policy
• Respond to inquiries and requests for payment information in a timely manner
• Assist with the processing of check runs to maintain financial liquidity
• Reconcile invoices to vendor statements to ensure accurate record-keeping
• Assist with the creation of procedures to improve efficiency in the Accounts Payable department
• Train team members to ensure they are competent in their roles and can perform their duties effectively
• Assist in the yearly 1099 process to ensure tax compliance
• Perform other accounting duties and ad hoc projects as needed to support the financial operations of the company. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is essential
• Experience in Cash Flow Management is required
• Must be adept at preparing Month-end Journal Entries
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to supervise a team
• Must be proficient in using accounting software and tools
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are needed
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required
• Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) are preferred
• Must have the ability to work independently and make decisions under tight deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are necessary.
