Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative and basic maintenance on our trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using computerized tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and basic maintenance on company trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using computerized tools and equipment.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating parts.

  • Disassemble and reassemble major components such as engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

  • Keep logs of equipment condition and work performed.

  • Assist in the yard when all work is caught up.

Essential Skills

  • Experience as a diesel mechanic, with a focus on working with trailers, large trucks, or heavy equipment.

  • Proficiency in using computerized tools and equipment for diagnostics and repairs.

  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic.

  • TWIC card is a plus, but the company will pay for it if needed.

Work Environment

This role involves working outside in various weather conditions, with occasional work in the truck bay to repair equipment. Candidates should be prepared for hands-on tasks and be comfortable working in all elements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, Montana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
