Manufacturing Engineer Manager
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To manage and coordinate the team assigned to him in all the activities related to technological development and the maintenance of the production process according to product requirements, as well as supporting all related improvement activities.
He is responsible, working together with R&D for product specifications, for the industrialization of the new items: from the identification of the production process to the choice of suitable machinery/equipment up to their commissioning with support to operators and preparation of instructions.
He will be the reference for the compilation of work cycles as well as for the quotations of competence relative to the plant.
With his team he will be responsible for the correct reordering of production equipment.
With his team, he supports the plant manager in the management of production lines by participating to the departmental boards and suggesting or leading problem solving activities to solve production efficiency or quality problems.
He manages the internal workshop that manufactures production equipment and the pre-setting department supporting the transfer department.
He proposes investments to improve production processes with the aim of reducing costs and modernizing the machine fleet.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEAM
Performs feasibility analyses and quotations for new products or modifications to existing products validated by R&D.
Designs production equipment and manages its supply chain.
Defines the machines to be used for the various products and defines their work cycles.
Drafts work instructions for releasing the new equipment into production.
To make the best technical contribution and to keep up with new technologies, he must take care of his own training and that of his staff.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 10 years of experience as Manufacturing Manager of medium/large manufacturing companies
Good knowledge of the English language.
Mastery of computer systems.
Knowledge of tools relating to problem solving and continuous improvement techniques.
Leadership skills.
Teamwork.
Knowledge of mechanical drawing, 2D and 3D CAD systems (preferably SOLID WORKS).
Knowledge of mechanical machining and CNC programming processes
Knowledge of forging processes is appreciated
Previous experience in the valve and fittings sector is desirable.
EDUCATION:
- Diploma in Mechanics and/or Mechatronics or Equivalent Degree.
