St. Luke's University Health Network Part-Time Outpatient Audiology Aide in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

The Audiology Aide will assist the Physical Therapy at St. Luke’s Audiology team with daily operations. The job includes clerical and clinical assistance. The Audiology Aide will work in collaboration with clinic specific staff to ensure high quality patient care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to answer telephone call in a timely manner, record messages, confirm/reschedule appointments

  • Complete insurance authorizations and verification

  • Scan and file paperwork within department as needed

  • Assist in cleaning treatment areas, equipment, and toys

  • Assist clinical audiology team during appointments; including visual and play audiometry with pediatric and adult populations

  • Assist clinical audiology team in checking hearing aids and tracking orders and repairs

  • Learn to order and organize clinic specific supplies

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit up to ninety (90) minutes at a time. Must be able to tolerate standing for thirty (30) to forty-five (45) minutes consecutively. Must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate dials on machines and computers. Must have the ability to lift/move, push/pull patients up to 200 lbs. utilizing the principles of the Safe Patient Handling Initiative. Must have the ability to occasionally stoop, bend, squat, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level. Must be capable of tactile sensation as it relates to feeling for muscle spasms, texture and skin temperature. Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation and ability to hear call bells. Must be capable of seeing as it relates to general vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Must be capable of driving a car.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma / GED required

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Previous experience working in a hospital/clinical setting preferred

Previous experience in speech language pathology or audiology, pediatric population, customer service preferred
