Job Title: Sr Systems Administrator (NEI-18)
Location: Bethesda, MD
CyberData Technologies is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator with a strong background in Windows Server administration, vulnerability mitigation, and cloud migration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware environments, including ESXi host patching, and working knowledge of Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure. Familiarity with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) is also required. This role demands a proactive problem solver capable of managing both operational and project-based tasks across hybrid infrastructure environments.
Responsibilities:
• Perform regular Windows Server patching across production and non-production environments.
• Identify, assess, and remediate Windows Server vulnerabilities in alignment with organizational security standards and industry best practices.
• Patch and maintain VMware ESXi hosts to ensure platform stability and security.
• Manage and optimize virtual infrastructure running on Nutanix, including capacity planning, health monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement and validate mitigations for discovered vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows servers and hosted applications.
• Maintain and optimize VMware infrastructure in on-premises environments.
• Support planning and execution of on-premises to cloud migration projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess application dependencies and performance requirements during cloud migration.
• Ensure compliance with internal security and operational standards during system changes.
• Monitor and report system performance and security posture; implement improvements as needed.
• Manage workloads using Azure VMware Solution (AVS) for hybrid and cloud environments.
Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience with Windows Server patching, hardening, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows servers and hosted applications.
• Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies, including vCenter and ESXi.
• Experience patching and managing VMware ESXi hosts in production environments.
• Experience with Nutanix infrastructure in an enterprise or production setting.
• Demonstrated involvement in on-premises to cloud migration projects.
• Familiarity with Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
• Solid understanding of system security principles and best practices.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, VCP, Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), or Azure certifications.
• Experience in enterprise-scale infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with patch management automation tools and vulnerability scanning platforms (e.g., Tenable).
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools.
• Understanding of ITIL practices and change management.
