Position Purpose :
The President of MacNeal Hospital (MH) is responsible and accountable for executive leadership and operational direction to MH within the regional operating structure. As a member of the regional executive team, actively engages in the creation and execution of strategies that enhance Trinity Health’s impact within its market area. As the accountable executive for a specific HM, responsible for the development and implementation of strategic and operating plans that align with regional objectives, reflect community needs, achieve organizational goals and advance the philosophy, mission and vision of Trinity Health. Fosters an environment that promotes and ensures excellence in the care experience and operational efficiencies within a variety of delivery settings. As the HM executive leader, provides leadership and guidance to the HM senior leadership team, enabling collaborative planning, innovation and decision-making.
Participates in the region's strategy to engage and partner with physicians to identify growth and collaboration with a focus on population health and care management activities. Provides leadership in the ongoing implementation of a "People-Centered Health System."
Creates an organizational culture that celebrates diversity and a community of engaged and committed persons serving the healing ministry with focus on competencies that support values of respect, social justice, care of the poor and underserved, compassion and excellence. Ensures effective governance and establishes a participative management and engaged organizational climate that develops and maintains talent and inclusiveness within the HM and throughout the region.
About MacNeal Hospital:
Part of Loyola Medicine, MacNeal Hospital is a 374-bed, Magnet designated and fully accredited teaching hospital with a rich history of providing quality health care to the Berwyn community and surrounding Chicagoland area. MacNeal Hospitals has over 550 medical staff members in 50 specialties, advanced inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and psychiatric services, advanced diagnostics and treatments in a convenient community setting at eight locations.
About Loyola Medicine:
Loyola Medicine is a regional, academic health system based in Chicago’s western suburbs and a member of Trinity Health (https://www.trinity-health.org/) , one of the nation’s largest Catholic health systems. Essential Functions
Cultural Alignment: Knows, understands, incorporates and demonstrates the Trinity Health mission, vision, and values in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
Regional Executive Leadership: Serves as a member of the regional executive leadership team charged with the creation of regional strategies that reflect the needs of the market area and the priorities of Trinity Health. Collaborates with regional executives, system office colleagues and other HM Presidents to achieve regional and system objectives. Seeks out, embraces and capitalizes on the advantages of regional and system resources, diversity, scale, replication opportunities, people and intellectual capital. Shares accountability for the achievement of regional performance metrics, including regional development.
Health Ministry (HM) Direction: Responsible and accountable for executive leadership and directly supervises HM senior management team ensuring the achievement of financial, operational and strategic plans with a focus on excellence in people-centered care in a variety of delivery settings. Champions change, operational improvement and growth initiatives - seeks out and employs effective change management and performance improvement techniques and tools.
Health Ministry (HM) Accountability and Responsibility: The HM Presidents report to and are accountable to the Regional Presidents and CEOs. The HM Presidents are accountable for the selection, evaluation and overall success of the senior leadership teams within the assigned HM who believe in the mission of Trinity Health and demonstrate the core values by their words and actions. The HM Presidents lead and implement effective local governance in partnership with local HM boards. Ensures effective integration of HM activities, system services and subsequent operating metrics.
Strategic Thinking: Leads the formation of the HM vision and strategic plan and the development and achievement of its goals and objectives. Ensures HM vision and operational plan are aligned with regional and system strategies and objectives. Oversees the analysis of community needs and the development of supportive programs and services, especially for the poor, populations at risk and the underserved.
Clinical Delivery: Facilitates the development and implementation of integrated clinical service delivery platforms within assigned HM and ensures integration and alignment within the region. Champions physician alignment strategies that lead to growth within the HM and regional affiliations. Ensures the coordination of actions and realization of service efficiencies that drive increased clinical quality, patient safety, enhanced patient and physician satisfaction, and responsiveness to marketplace growth and needs.

Talent Development: Mentors and develops the HM senior leadership team, fostering achievement of goals and objectives, high performing leadership practices, collaboration, innovation, and interdependence. Participates in regional succession planning and supports talent development initiatives within the region. Employs participative management and leadership approaches that optimize organization resources and talent effectiveness and organizational learning.
Community: Leads applicable governance process and works with community leaders to advance the mission of the hospital’s strategic and philanthropic plans. Actively participates in associations and groups within the region. Establishes and maintains relationships with key community and state leaders to facilitate the accomplishment of regional and system goals and objectives.
Engagement: Develops and sustains an environment that supports optimum engagement of colleagues and physicians. Champions behaviors that include respect for individuals, open, honest and direct communication, collaboration and integrity to attain engagement.
Regulatory and Compliance: Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, standards of conduct, ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a thorough knowledge of healthcare management principles and techniques as normally obtained through a Master's Degree in Health Administration or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of management experience, including experience as the Chief Operating Officer and/or President/Chief Executive Officer of an integrated health care entity.
Advanced business and executive leadership skills to develop new or enhance existing clinical and operational strategies, business plans, policies and programs.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of current health care trends and practices.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and business acumen.
Must be able to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Ability to identify, create and foster an organizational culture that is supportive of and builds upon the Trinity Health faith-based traditions and vision for a healing ministry.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health.
Physical and Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities.
Must be able to travel as needed to the various Trinity Health sites.
