Wise Foods, Inc. Production Manager - Salty Snacks Manufacturing in Berwick, Pennsylvania

Based in Berwick, PA the Production Manager will ensure the production departments are working efficiently with schedule optimization, management procedures, training processes, and resource management to optimize efforts and materials. Responsible for line utilization, participation in quality and safety audits, and define operating procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the production process to ensure delivery of high-quality products that meet needs of the company.

  • Ensures appropriate production rate to reduce delivery delays.

  • Collaborates with the Quality Assurance Department to identify and resolve quality concerns.

  • Identifies any bottlenecks or delays in production; ensures necessary labor, materials, and other resources are available to relieve production delays.

  • Uses production planning and scheduling to limit materials shortages.

  • Prioritizes action plans with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager in order to have equipment availability to meet production demands.

  • Implements and oversees quality controls and procedures including HACCP, metal detection, recall and hold procedures, lot traceability.

  • Schedules maintenance and repair of machines used in production process to avoid downtime or delays.

  • Ensures production programs meet targets to stay within budget.

  • Responsible for oversight of the inventory of packaging and raw material availability.

  • Create a line balance analysis to determine the optimum resources need for efficient operations.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years of food production management with a proven track record in identifying, managing and implementing operational excellence in projects for production.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient with computerized materials control programs.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

    Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree - business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology

  • 7 - 10 years of experience in food production and manufacturing processes and techniques, health and safety standards and compliance, process improvement techniques with a proven track record in improved efficiency.

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk and reach with hands and arms. Able to lift and move up to 15 pounds. This position holds periods of time sitting and working on a computer.
