Job Description Summary
The Tender Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the overall technical coordination and management during the tender phase of projects. This role operates within international teams across the full spectrum of substation technologies—onshore and offshore, AIS and GIS systems, Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), as well as renewable energy solutions—for Distribution System Operators (DSOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs), and industrial clients.
Acting as the Technical Project Engineering Manager during the tendering phase, this position ensures that all technical aspects of the tender are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer requirements. The role also involves driving the development of optimized technical solutions and managing technical risks and opportunities throughout the tender process.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all technical activities during the tender phase, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables.
Define and manage the engineering scope (DOR), schedule, and resource planning for the tender engineering team.
Coordinate across multidisciplinary and international teams to ensure seamless interface alignment and technical consistency.
Ensure compliance with customer technical requirements, including managing clause-by-clause analyses and technical meetings.
Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement through Return of Experience activities.
Manage the overall schedule of tender engineering activities, ensuring implementation of engineering processes and oversight of technical coordination across various project work packages.
Lead the estimation of the project engineering budget and developing the execution Engineering design strategy in collaboration with the Tender Engineers, and with support from Project Engineering Managers.

Your profile:
Electrical Engineering degree level
Experience in engineering activities on high-voltage EPC projects, including AC substations or FACTS.
Proven experience in project technical management within multidisciplinary teams, handling multiple interfaces and international collaboration.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent team management skills with accountability for team results, ensuring high-quality product delivery on time and within budget.
Ability to travel up to10 - 20% of the time
Fluency in German and English.
Knowledge of the Transmission or Distribution industry is essential.
Mastering of some engineering processes such as: Civil work, Plant configuration, control &protection hardware, System & performance studies, or Electrical design is beneficial
Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, BIM or Engineering Base is advantageous.
Experience with MS Project is beneficial
Knowledge of Renewable Energy systems is a plus.
