The team you will be a part of

The Global Corporate Communications organization comprises media relations, corporate reputation, interactive creative media, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, social media, employee experience, and executive communications. This role is part of the Interactive Team, a multidisciplinary team of digital creators, technology experts, storytellers, and creative leaders that protect and advance the Whirlpool Corporation corporate reputation through digital-first, visually-focused, integrated storytelling.

This role in summary

Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical Content Studio Manager position located at our Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, Michigan. As the Content Studio Manager on the Interactive Team, Global Corporate Communications, you will develop and execute a variety of projects in video and media production. The ideal candidate is a seasoned visual storyteller with creativity, strategy, and effective leadership experience who can elevate our corporate reputation and bring impactful stories to life.

In this role, you will manage all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production in video and photography. From directing, content capture, editing, and motion graphic support for external corporate media. We are seeking an individual who can develop and implement creative production strategies and continually refine. This role is 80% hands-on in their craft and 20% producer production activities. This role is a 5-day in-office role. #LI-DD1

Your responsibilities will include

  • Be a creative collaborator focused on creative problem-solving with sharp visual storytelling skills

  • Lead pre-production meetings and own all details of the production schedule to ensure smooth and efficient shoots, oftentimes with the need for both motion and still captures

  • Partner closely with internal team members to come up with storytelling angles, aid in creative brainstorming and script writing

  • Book additional crew members/support as needed including; DP (Director of Photography), editor, script writing, VO (voice-over) talent, managing talent releases, negotiating rates.. etc.

  • Responsible for the quality of the assets captured by being involved in ideation, creative development, execution, editing, and delivery

  • Be aware of photo and video trends; provide inspiration and ideas that push “what’s always been done” to internal clients and creative teams

  • Continually evolve the content capture process within the overall creative process

  • Works closely with the Interactive Creative Team to establish toolkits and guidelines that will lead to productivity, efficiencies, and creativity

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years experience as a Videographer, DP (Director of Photography), or Editor

  • 7+ years experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Lightroom

  • Demo reel and/or portfolio of work required

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Production, or Cinematography; or equivalent industry experience

  • Accomplished in managing creative projects and/or operating a content studio in an agency or corporate setting

  • A seasoned visual storyteller with creativity, strategy, and effective leadership experience

  • Experience managing video and photography vendor relationships, production budgets, and payments

  • Technically proficient in production equipment, lighting, sound, software..etc.

  • Skilled at cataloging captured assets, tagging, distributing, and archiving

  • Well-versed in leading pre-production meetings and owning all details of the production schedule
