Job Description Summary
Engine Dynamics is a critical domain for aircraft engines as it impacts the entire product life cycle of the engine, starting with conceptual design through product design/certification and field support. The main purpose of the engine dynamics team is to develop a rotor dynamically stable engine ensuring safety & reliability while finding an optimal balance between performance, weight & cost. This team is critical to realizing GE Aerospace’s noble vision in developing next generation RISE (Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engine) engines.
The main responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, leading multiple project teams to solve business critical problems by performing accurate rotordynamic analyses serving internal/external customers, lead/provide inputs towards technology maturation, champion advancement of state of the art in predictive methods and drive collaboration across multiple teams, organizations & global sites to share knowledge base.

Site Overview
Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Roles and Responsibilities
Formally lead team on complex technical problems/programs in the area of vibe test/cert support, and developing vibe model correlations for structural and rotor dynamics
Support vibe endurance, block test and responsibility on some of the development/ compliance engine test daily trending/health monitoring
Initiate/lead continuous improvement strategy for engine dynamics methods/tools
Lead TOPS8D/RCA programs to derive fast, cost effective solutions
Demonstrate horizontal leadership by collaborating both within and outside the immediate team/organization to deliver tangible business impact
Lead system level dynamics evaluation of aircraft engines at various operating conditions
Recommend design/analysis approaches utilizing current best practices to meet program/ project needs and develop new best practices to solve newer technical challenges
Growing perspective, making cross product linkages, leveraging expertise
Support & write funding proposals to align with opportunities of tech maturation programs
Lead and drive innovation and IP strategies
Promote inclusion & diversity: recognize team and value varied perspectives
Mentor team and lead talent development initiatives
Adopt & promote LEAN philosophy through daily management & LEAN problem solving
Required Qualifications
PhD / MTech / MS in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
15+ years of relevant experience on dynamics design/analyses in gas turbine domain
In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering, structural and rotor dynamics fundamentals
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering programs, inspire excellence in teams and drive change
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments
Desired Characteristics
Strong numerical simulation experience in any of the commercial FE packages
Exposure to engine vibration related noise assessment methodology
Exposure to FAA regulations and aerospace industry
Exposure to Design For Six Sigma tools and techniques
