Jacobs Piping Condition Assessment and Rehabilitation Engineer in Bellevue, Washington

If you’re interested in a rewarding career working with a global leader and the industry’s best and most innovative professionals, Jacobs is where you belong. Our teams engage at the forefront of large, complex projects to help navigate the competing challenges involved with reliable water supply, management, conveyance, and natural resources protection.

We’re seeking a Piping Condition Assessment and Rehabilitation Engineer to assist with and/or lead planning, evaluation, engineering, design, and construction support services for a variety of related projects. In this role, you’ll work with other members of our local, regional, and national teams to perform specialized engineering assignments for piping and utility system projects of varied sizes, configurations, and capacities, and for a variety of potential clients. Piping and utility system condition assessment and rehabilitation engagements may involve potable water, wastewater, irrigation, hydropower, and stormwater applications, supporting water transmission, distribution, collection, treatment facilities, flood control, industrial facilities, or other purposes. This work includes assessment, evaluation, planning, and design related to condition assessment and rehabilitation of pipelines and utility systems, including the development of design drawings, specifications, asset management plans, and technical reports. You will evaluate existing pipeline and utility system performance, operations, and condition to provide recommendations on rehabilitation and replacement of associated infrastructure systems, including "trenchless" pipeline rehabilitation and replacement approaches. For this work, you will coordinate with other project disciplines, direct the work of CADD designers and other engineering staff, and conduct occasional field activities such as site assessment, data collection, analysis, documentation, and construction support.

Depending on project size and complexity, you’ll have the opportunity to serve as a technical subject matter expert, task lead, design manager, and/or in project management roles performing technical tasks, quality control, and coordinating the use of resources to support multiple, concurrent projects through all phases of planning, execution, and closeout. You’ll also contribute to client engagement and development, and professional services marketing, sales, and business development pursuits.

At Jacobs, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally through your participation with high-functioning project teams, collaborating via our positive and empowering culture to deliver challenging projects and innovation in concert with our industry leading subject matter experts and market solutions teams. Through your engagement you will also build client relationships and foster future client opportunities in collaboration with our sales teams. Join us and we will support your professional growth and progressive career advancement, helping you explore all that you can do across our global company, with opportunities to share your knowledge and build experience and leadership along the way.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

• Minimum of four to ten years of progressive engineering experience specializing in piping and utility systems condition assessment and rehabilitation including planning, evaluation, design, and construction phase services, as well as trenchless rehabilitation technologies and methods.

• Core technical experience in the analysis of pipeline infrastructure lifecycle, renewal, rehabilitation, and replacement economics, and planning for current and future design conditions.

• Core technical experience with a variety of pipeline condition assessment technologies, such as 3D LiDAR/Sonar/CCTV, in-line "smart pig" inspection tools, surface/ground penetrating radar, acoustic leak detection, and/or external corrosion direct assessment (ECDA), as well as with trenchless pipeline and utility system rehabilitation technologies, such as gravity CIPP, pressure CIPP, pipe-bursting, segmental slip-lining, continuous slip-lining, spray-applied liners, and/or hand-applied internal lining plate/panel systems.

• Varied and progressive related experience with piping and utility systems design and operations, including potable water, wastewater, irrigation, hydropower, and stormwater utility infrastructure of varied sizes and capacities.

• Familiarity with related technical and industry standards, regulations, and requirements.
